It's the time for my annual or maybe bi-annual mega whinge.

"Stop the fucking about with time - already!!!"

Why? To what purpose in the modern world do 'they' have to mess with my body clock?

It is NOT good.

I don't give a flying fuck if it heralds the start of summer etc - poke summer up 'their' arses. I needed more sleep and now my whole day is a big, messy, hatratting pile of fuck'd-uppidness.

Oh haircut......

Just for comparison from Sunday's 'Wet dog' look.

One neat, tidy and (temporarily) sweet smelling little Border-buggarlugs. Lottie when for her bi-annual stripping from Lucy today and is back already. She even has nice neat little toenails too.
**excuse the iron in the background - she nicked Loobles bed and wasn't shifting for a photo-op!

This time round I lengthened the lower body and the sleeves by two inches each.

It fits very nicely and I am looking forward to wearing it.

Houdini ala Conkers

So the cat escaped in the early hours of Tuesday. I saw him at 6.00am, M was up at 7.00am and in that hour the little feline fuckwit had got out. His only possible route was from a window he'd never attempted before - our bathroom one on the 1st floor which is right above the conservatory roof - about an 8 ft drop to the roof, then another 10ft (approx) to the ground. I found paw prints on the window frame and Ma heard a big thump and saw a small black cat go legging it up the garden. He vanished *poof*.

He was gone all day and reappeared, sauntering out of Ma's bedroom, about 8.00pmish. He'd been in for a while when we found him as his fur was warm and he was calm. Normally when he first comes back he's wild and panics if you approach him etc. But this time M picked him up and he snuggled in and purred happily.

Conkers has always been an indoor cat (history had been told before on this blog but he was a rescue from a cruelty case and needed (then) to be an indoors kitty). But he escapes at least 4 times a year, if not more and once he decides it's time for foray, nothing will stop him until he manages it!

So his future as an indoor cat is under review, if he is soooooo determined to get out perhaps we should bow to his wishes. I'd rather get used to him being 'out' and it become the norm then spend all day like I did Tuesday, acting calm on the surface (J gets upset when Conks goes awol) but panicking all day that he might not come back. Not an easy decision to make. I've never had a come and go kitty, Buster and Kodo used to go in the back garden but never wandered and seemed happy and content with that but Conkers is such a strange boy, it is all new territory.

We're keeping him in till the weekend when we're both around a bit more and then we will see how it goes. A case of a deep breath and fingers crossed.

Spring bonnet

Loobles used to wear this when she was a puppy. Her favourite trick was to pull it off, grab it and run like hell, she never chewed it she just wanted us to chase her. Lottie is looking on with her blue fing obviously bemused........
Lou-Lou long face. She didn't even try to remove it, she was to comfy in her bed to be bothered.

Lottie's turn - her ears were too small for it to stay on alone....I think she was relieved about that.
J reminded me of this by putting his cap on Loobles this morning - he'd never seen us do this so it was a dawgie trip down memory lane for Loobles and a 1st for Lotsie.

Brain fart title - more critters & yarn

A Coatie - very curious and cute.
M's bit of stuff on the side. Seriously he has a thing for Pygmy Hippos (don't even think it!!!!) one of them had a baby but the picture came out fuzzy (no it didn't have a beard and piercings).

Mmmmmmmmmmm more Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock in Motherlode. Such a rich mix of colours, quite dreamy in fact.

Been to the zoo, now we're sleep, sleep, sleepy.

"May I ask - who you lookin at pal?" He actually was quite furtive and edgy - someone had mentioned Boy George and it gave him the willies!
I got the Kookburra to sing with me by 'Kooking' at him - it was great and no-one gave me strange looks at all. Must be pretty normal to see a middle aged women wearing too many skulls on her clothes dueting with a Kookaburra.

Love Raffes. They are so awesome yet almost define logic and reason. This one posed for the camera.

Mmmmm din-dins. Not a can of'Whiskas' in sight.

The work of the Deeevil

Housework, laundry and ironing! Yuck hate them all with a passion that borders on violence. Where does all the dust come from? I dusted yesterday morning and there was none and overnight it all crept back onto the shelves - it is EVIL I tell you, totally EVIL and should be banished to the nearest pit of doom and despair.

Don't even get me started on the laundry monster that manages to fill (to the brim) a large wicker laundry basket in one day! Where does it all come from? Why is most of it small and smelly? I thought boys were meant to like being grubby? And of course the laundry monster morphs in just a few hours to an ironing beast. Ugh!

It is a cycle sucks all the warmth and joy from my person and takes me away from all the important things I hold afternoon need to not be cleaning etc.

Someone, somewhere make it all go away or invent a self cleaning home along with self cleansing and self ironing clothes - we can fly to the f*****g moon this can't be that difficult, it's not a big ask and just think how happy it would make so many people - me included.

Sock yarn purchase?....Moi?

Now these are not normally my thang, but it was yarn lust at first sight (via online shop) which is even better in real life.

The yarn is Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock Multi in Montrose. It really speaks to me and I am using it as a carrot to finish other things before I ball it up.

Tessellating lace and fur babies.

Tessellating Lace Socks by Kat Haines (pattern is on Ravelry). Knit in the medium size on 2.75mm circs using Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock in Envy. Took about 1 and 1/4 skeins.
Nice pattern to knit, very well written and pretty too.

Lottie and Lou-Lou are becoming really good pals.

Conkers McBonkers sleeps well apart from the snoring, farting canines and even when asleep manages to look disdainful.

Mmmmm sleepy, cheesy paws!

Spring is starting to be sprung

The Dafs in the garden are starting to break through, you can see more yellow than green.
The Snowdrops are in full bloom.

Primroses are popping up through the leaf litter.

Crocus are turning the flowerbeds into a burgeoning carpet of colour.

** All pictures are courtesy of J who wanted to experiment with the macro setting of his camera. Taken this morning and I (proud Mum etc) think they are pretty good - much better than I can do.
